Cynthia N Rittenberg

Cynthia N Rittenberg is President of Rittenberg Oncology Consulting, Metairie, US, working with individual and corporate clients. Between 2001 and 2010, she served as the first Executive Director of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), an international, multidisciplinary, non-profit organisation that enhances cancer supportive care worldwide. Mrs Rittenberg created the position of oncology nurse specialist at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans. She has been Director of Oncology Nursing Research at the Ochsner Cancer Institute in New Orleans. She has served as adjunct faculty at New Orleans universities and on pharmaceutical advisory boards. Mrs Rittenberg is a member of the American Academy of Nursing, the Oncology Nursing Society, the New Orleans Oncology Nurses (NOON – of which she is a past president), the American Nurses Association, the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the MASCC and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She has made various presentations at national and international meetings and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. Mrs Rittenberg works as a volunteer with the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, a local TV station helping residents with consumer problems and the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans. Mrs Rittenberg received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Louisiana State University School of Nursing at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans.
