Unrivalled precision and reliability of information

Tumorigenesis is a multifactorial and complex process involving multiple oncogenes and resulting in cancerous cells with specific proliferation capabilities as well as particular sensitivity to any given cytotoxic agent. In other words, every cancer is unique and efficient therapy requires extensive knowledge of its characteristics.

Traditional diagnostic information (age, tumor localization and size, histology and immuno-histochemistry) provides oncologists with limited guidance to optimize treatment options.

Molecular diagnostics, based on knowledge of the pathways involved in cancer initiation and development, have now the potential to classify the disease, measure its degree of aggressiveness and indicate which drug should preferably been used. They may also be used during follow up to monitor the effectiveness of the treatment.

To establish each tumors’ molecular identity, Ipsogen direclty analyzes markers that sign genetic alterations at the origin of the disease, delivering unrivalled sensitivity and reliability.

Activities Overview

A worldwide presence

Based on patents licensed from academic laboratories or arising from its own R&D results, Ipsogen focuses on the development, manufacturing and marketing of diagnostic tests.

These steps are directly managed by the group save for sales in a few countries where they are delegated to distributors because of the complexity of targeted markets.

Ipsogen has established a production site compliant with the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and certified ISO 13485:2003 in 2007.

Ipsogen sells its products in 50 countries to 200 reference centers for cancer therapy, 20 private laboratories and numerous distributors.

The Group has a commercial office in Europe and an equivalent structure in the United States; each department is responsible for sales, product support and marketing. The sales force is deployed locally in 5 worldwide zones:
  • the United States, where the Group has been having a commercial subsidiary in New Haven, Connecticut, since 2005,
  • the French-speaking European countries,
  • Spain and Portugal,
  • Germany and the Netherlands,
