Margaret V Ragni
Margaret V Ragni, MD, MPH, is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and Director of the Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania. She is on the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Hemostasis and Thrombosis Study Section, the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Development Task Force, the ASH News Daily Editorial Board, the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee, and the Executive Board of the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Research Society (HTRS) of North America. She is active in clinical translational research and in mentoring students, residents, and fellows, and is funded by multiple federal research grants. In 1998, she received both the Kenneth Brinkhous Award for Excellence in Clinical Research from the NHF and the Kenneth E Schuit Award, the Dean’s Award for Master Educator, from the University of Pittsburgh. She has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications concerning hemophilia and von Willebrand disease, as well as transfusion-related hepatitis C (HC) and HIV/HC virus co-infection. In 1993, Dr Ragni received an MPH from the Graduate School of Public Health, Pittsburgh.
